Why six students

A class of twenty can be taught well, but it cannot be watched well. The teacher sees the hands that go up, not the child who has quietly stopped following. At six, every piece of written work gets read each week, and a child who is drifting is noticed in days rather than at the end of term.

It is a less profitable way to run a centre. We think it is the reason the teaching works, so it is not something we intend to change.

Why online

Lessons run live over Zoom. That removes the travel — for a P6 student in the middle of the PSLE year, ninety minutes saved on a weeknight is not a small thing — and it lets us teach with the same materials on every screen at once.

Classes are live rather than recorded. A child who is stuck benefits from asking at the moment they are stuck; a recording cannot answer back.

How we talk to parents

We would rather tell you a class is not right for your child than take an enrolment that wastes a term. If we do not teach what your child needs, we will say so.

You will hear from us about how your child is getting on, not only when a payment is due. If something is not working, we would rather you told us early.
