The first year of Science, taught as a way of thinking
P3 is where Science becomes a subject rather than a topic. The habits formed here — observe, describe, explain — are the ones the PSLE eventually tests.

Does this sound familiar?
Signs your child may need this class
- Enjoys Science but writes one-word answers
- Describes what happened without saying why
- Mixes up living, non-living and once-living
- Finds the wording of questions harder than the Science itself
Where P3 Science actually starts
Most P3 pupils arrive able to say what happened in an experiment. Far fewer can say why it happened, in a sentence a marker would credit. That gap is not a knowledge problem, and it does not close on its own.
How we teach it
Each concept is paired with the kind of question that tests it. Pupils write their own answer first, then compare it against a model and mark the difference themselves. With six pupils at most, every child’s written work is read each week.

Questions parents ask
Is P3 too early to start Science tuition?
It is the first year Science is taught formally, so there is no earlier point to start. Whether it is necessary depends on your child. Tell us what you are seeing and we will give you an honest view.
Will this follow my child's school?
We broadly follow the MOE syllabus sequence. Schools vary in the order they teach topics, so tell us which school your child attends and we will say how closely it lines up.
What if my child already finds Science easy?
Then tuition may not be the right spend this year, and we will say so. Where it helps a confident P3 pupil is in learning to write a full explanation early, rather than relearning the habit in P5.
More general questions are answered on our FAQ page, and our reasoning for capping every class at six is set out in about us.
